MBACP Dip Counselling (BACP)

As a qualified, BACP registered psychodynamic counsellor, my aim is to create a calm, confidential space to bring whatever feels important or relevant to your personal story.

My approach is client led meaning we will work collaboratively at your pace and build a therapeutic relationship where you can talk freely in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental setting.

Whatever your reason for coming to counselling, we can work together to help you explore and better understand your challenges, identify changes you want to make and how you might achieve these.

I work with adults and young people (18+) and have a special interest in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and stress.

As a qualified counsellor working with adults and young people, I am passionate about the healing work of counselling and psychotherapy. One of my main aims is to build a therapeutic relationship, offering a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever may be on your mind, in your own time, helping you to resolve issues and achieve a greater sense of wellbeing.

Our work will involve helping you understand your past, find clarity in your present and create the best future for yourself.

I offer face to face sessions in a quiet, private setting in Bishop's Stortford and online sessions via Zoom for both short- and long-term therapy.

Why Therapy

People from all walks of life seek therapy. Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed? It might be that you are struggling to cope with a recent crisis or looking to resolve longstanding issues.

Therapy is a place where these questions and concerns can be understood in a thoughtful, appropriate and supported way. It provides an opportunity to speak to a trained professional to work through your concerns, which can often make you feel isolated and unable to share with family, friends or colleagues. Rather than feel we are compelled to experience life in familiar patterns, therapy offers understanding and choice within our lives.

Counselling isn’t about giving you solutions or advice but empowering you to make your own changes; bringing clarity where there is confusion, resolving past issues, changing behaviours and improving relationships. Personal therapy can often be an important step in developing a more resilient and authentic self that is better able to cope with life’s inevitable challenges, bringing greater self-awareness and self-understanding.
