Sarah Burley
Children’s Therapist DipHE MBACP
As a qualified specialist Counsellor for children and young people I am passionate about their mental health and wellbeing.
I provide a welcoming, safe and confidential space to explore whatever brings you to counselling.
As well as the 'traditional' talking-therapy, I offer a creative element to therapy with art materials, play etc. where we are able to explore thoughts, feelings or emotions in creative, but also therapeutic, ways.
My practice is Person-Centred and each child or young person is valued as the unique individual that they are. My aim is to support them in exploring what is happening in their lives by listening free from judgement.
I have worked with children and young people for many years, including as a School Counsellor within a
Secondary school as well as support for young people at Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge.
I am able to offer one-to-one counselling for children and young people, up to the age of 25, at Stortford Therapy Space.
Initial Session
Feeling comfortable with your therapist or feeling comfortable leaving your child is something that I recognise as hugely important when choosing a therapist. After the initial contact, we will work together to arrange the first session that both child/young person and perhaps parent/carer are happy with.
